FAQ: Contributing and supporting

Support does not have to be financial only. Time, knowledge, usable equipment and materials can contribute just as much to the work of the foundation and its projects.

Questions on this page

How can I support ASK-Solutions financially?

You can support the foundation financially with a voluntary contribution. Donations help, among other things, to keep time, materials, infrastructure, documentation and practical learning and repair opportunities available.

A donation is separate from amounts due for, for example, a workshop, materials, a repair, use of a workshop or another agreed activity.

Can I contribute equipment, tools or materials?

Yes, when the material is useful for a project, location or public-benefit purpose. This could, for example, be a laptop that can be made available to someone else after careful data removal, cleaning and any necessary repair, but also tools, parts or suitable workshop materials.

What is useful differs by location and project. Please coordinate a larger or unusual contribution in advance, so it is clear where the material can go and whether there is space and a meaningful use for it.

Can I contribute time or knowledge?

Yes. For structural or practical involvement, we use the volunteer information. Roles, locations, calls for help and updates can be linked there to the place or project where the contribution is actually needed.

Volunteering within one project or location does not automatically mean that someone is available for all ASK-Solutions activities.

Can I indicate which project or location my contribution is intended for?

That depends on how the contribution is made. A contribution can be intended for the foundation in general or linked to a specific project, initiative or location, where the responsible organisation is able to record that designation administratively.

The public support routes therefore indicate, where necessary, who the legal recipient is and what designation is recorded with the contribution.

Who receives a financial contribution to The Owl’s Nest?

The Owl’s Nest is a work model and not an independent legal entity. A financial contribution is therefore received by the organisation responsible for the relevant implementation, optionally with a specified project or location designation.

For the current Haarlem locations, ASK-Solutions is the implementing organisation. If an implementation is carried by another legal entity, the financial route should refer to that implementing organisation or operator.
