With a financial donation you can contribute to the public-benefit work of ASK-Solutions. Donations can be used for the implementation and organisation of projects and activities, for example for materials, equipment, development, documentation, communication, accommodation and other resources needed to make the work possible.

You can make an unrestricted donation to ASK-Solutions or discuss a designation for your contribution with us. Where this is administratively possible and appropriate, a donation can for example be linked to a specific project, location or concrete implementation.

Contribute generally or agree a designation

An unrestricted donation gives ASK-Solutions the flexibility to use the contribution where it is most needed within its public-benefit work. This may, for example, include shared facilities, materials, administration, communication or costs that do not belong exclusively to one project.

You can also indicate that you would like to support a particular project or concrete implementation. Not every requested designation can be handled in the same way administratively or practically, so we prefer to coordinate unusual or larger designated contributions in advance.

Projects may also indicate on their own websites which financial or other contributions are useful at a particular time. This allows a contribution to be directed as closely as possible to the work for which it is intended.

What financial contributions can be used for

What is needed differs by project and activity. Financial contributions can, for example, help with:

materials, parts and consumables;
tools, machines and technical equipment;
development and maintenance of free software and hardware;
documentation, articles, manuals and other forms of knowledge sharing;
workshops, practical activities and project implementation;
accommodation, facilities, insurance and maintenance;
administration, communication and other organisational work needed to carry out projects responsibly.

A donation is therefore not payment for a separate service or product. It is a voluntary financial contribution to the work of the foundation or to an agreed designation within that work.

Financial sponsorship

A financial contribution can also take the form of sponsorship. With sponsorship, unlike a regular donation, appropriate visibility or acknowledgement is agreed in advance in connection with the contribution.

That visibility should, wherever possible, relate to the project or activity to which the sponsorship applies. A sponsor may, for example, be mentioned in connection with a facility within The Owl’s Nest or alongside publications, videos or other project communications. The exact form is agreed in advance and should fit the character of the relevant work.

Discussing a contribution

If you would like to donate a larger amount, designate a contribution for a specific purpose, contribute periodically or first discuss where your contribution could be most useful, you can contact us in advance.

If you would like to contribute materials, equipment, space or other resources rather than money, there are separate routes for this within the collaboration structure.
