Pictogram of a bookEditorial Policy

Publishing is an essential part of the work of ASK-Solutions. Philosophical, societal and technical questions form the starting point for research, experimental development and knowledge sharing. We document and make accessible the insights, methods and results that emerge from this work so that others can examine, evaluate, apply and develop them further.

Our editorial approach is grounded in scientific principles: critical and systematic inquiry, testable claims, verifiable sources and transparency about the methods used and the results obtained. We distinguish between established facts, observations, assumptions, interpretations and opinions. Conclusions must be supported by the available evidence, and uncertainties or limitations are not concealed.

These principles apply to our research reports and technical documentation, as well as to historical articles, educational materials, guides, analyses and reflections on societal issues. Not every publication constitutes scientific research in itself, but every publication must be carefully prepared, its reasoning must be clear, and its claims must be verifiable wherever possible. In this way, we aim not only to share knowledge but also to encourage critical thinking, independent inquiry and an informed exchange of ideas.

Authorship and safety

To respect the privacy of our contributors and to help prevent unwanted attention, individual author names are not displayed on this website. Articles are published under the responsibility of the ASK-Solutions editorial team, and we remain fully accountable for the content we share. We are proud of the authors and reviewers who contribute their time and expertise to this project, and we aim to protect their ability to keep doing that work safely and sustainably.

Sourcing and verification

Corrections, additions and updates

Many of our publications continue to develop over a period of years. New insights, research findings and developments in society, politics or technology may give reason to add to an article published earlier. We include this information as a clearly identifiable, dated addition, without retrospectively rewriting the original text. This preserves a record of how knowledge, circumstances and understanding evolve over time.

When previously published information turns out to have been incorrect or incomplete, we document this in a clear correction or addition. We preserve the original text so that readers can trace what was published at the time and which later information led to a different conclusion. We do not retrospectively alter earlier statements to bring them into line with new insights or circumstances.

Direct edits to existing text are limited to correcting language and grammatical errors, stylistic improvements that do not change the content or meaning, and removing personal data at the request of the people concerned. Substantive corrections and additions are presented separately and visibly.

To report errors, provide additional information or make requests concerning personal data, please use our contact page.

Conflicts of interest

Financial, organisational or personal interests must not influence the substantive assessment in a publication. When we publish about our own projects, partners, sponsors or other parties with whom we have a relevant relationship, we disclose that involvement and any associated interests. Such relationships do not change our principles for sourcing, verification or distinguishing between facts, interpretations and opinions.
