Last week we received our long-awaited Prusa XL. Immediately after the announcement on November 18, 2021, we pre-ordered one. Due to the global shortages during that period, it was conservatively estimated that the first pre-orders would be shipped in Q3 of 2022.
We ordered the semi-assembled version of the Prusa XL. When pre-ordering, we were disappointed that there was no kit version, but very happy when the printer arrived. The New York state assembly has passed the United States’ first ever Right to Repair bill covering electronics, 145 to 1. On June 1, the New York State Senate passed their version of the bill in favor 59 to 4. Called the "Fair Repair Act", the measure would require all manufacturers who sell “digital electronic products” within the state borders to make tools, parts, and instructions for repair available to both consumers and independent shops.
